Hilton Expands in Colombia

By: - November 24th, 2016

Hilton has expanded in Colombia, debuting its eighth hotel in the country with the new Hampton by Hilton Medellin.

The 132-room property, which is owned and managed by Metro Operacion Inmobilaria SAS, opened this week.

“We are thrilled to debut the Hampton by Hilton brand in this remarkable city,” said Phil Cordell, global head, focused service and Hampton brand management, Hilton. “This opening marks an important milestone as we continue to expand the Hampton brand presence in Colombia and deliver on our commitment to providing the brand’s friendly and authentic service to business and leisure travelers.”

Colombia has been seeing a wave of new tourism investment, in large part on its Caribbean coast in cities like Cartagena and Barranquilla, although that has continued southward.

The hotel has a 14th-floor sky lobby, a 24-hour fitnes center, a terrace with a whirlpool on the 15th floor and a business center.

“We are excited to open the new Hampton by Hilton Medellin in a prime location, just minutes away from shopping centers, office buildings, restaurants and many entertainment options,” said Camilo Gomez Sanmiguel, general manager of the hotel.
