Warwick Paradise Island Opens in the Bahamas

Warwick Paradise Island

Nassau is open for business.

And the destination, whose tourism infrastructure has quickly recovered from Hurricane Matthew, has a shiny new property to celebrate the occasion.

The long-awaited Warwick Paradise Island Bahamas has debuted with a soft opening on Paradise Island as the newest adults-only, all-inclusive hotel in the region.

The project is the result of a $40 million transformation project of the property, the former Holiday Inn Sunspree resort.

The hotel has 250 rooms on 12 floors, along with four dining options, two bars, a fitness center and views and a prime spot overlooking Nassau Harbour.

The hotel’s design is the brainchild of Washington-based Perkins Eastman, while Dutch firm UXUS designed the hotel’s modern contemporary rooms.

The room stock includes both islandview or waterview rooms, along with either Harbour Deluxe or Harbour Premium rooms and one-bedroom suites with king beds and soaking tubs.

All rooms include flat-screen TVs, coffee and tea makers, individually controlled air conditioning, in-room safes, mini-fridges and complimentary Wi-Fi, among other amenities. (The hotel also promises Wi-Fi from the beach to the bedroom).

The hotel says its signature feature is the 10,000-square-foot Warwick Sea Terrace, which overlooks the harbour marinas and includes a steak and seafood restaurant, also set to open later this fall.

The hotel is a short ride from the Atlantis Paradise Island resort, along with Cabbage Beach, Paradise Island’s famous stretch of sand (pictured in cover photo).

The soft opening comes ahead of a planned debut of the hotel’s new full-service spa and salon, which are slated to open later this year.
