Marriott Port-au-Prince Names New GM

Marriott Port-au-Prince GM

The Marriott Port-au-Prince in Haiti has named a new general manager, the property announced Wednesday.

The hotel has appointed Ellen Wouters to the role, in which she will hold ultimate responsibility for the full scope of hotel operations and financial performance of the property.

A native of Holland, Wouters had been serving as the hotel’s director of operations.

“Having served as the first executive member of the pre-opening team here in Haiti, I’m particularly proud to take up the mantle of leadership and ensure that the Marriott Port-au-Prince continues to play a strong role in moving Haiti forward,” Wouters said in a statement.

Wouters has held senior management positions at Marriotts in Aruba, Germany, Holland, Poland and the United Kingdom.

The 175-room hotel was named Caribbean Journal’s New Hotel of the Year in 2015.
