One of the Caribbean’s top eco-friendly hotels is getting greener.
The Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort in Aruba is installing new solar panels on its roofs, the property said.
The panels will produce 22 percent of the hotel’s energy consumption and take an even greater slice out of its carbon emissions.
The resort, led by hotelier Ewald Biemans, has always been at the forefront of the Caribbean green movement, from energy efficiency to solar water heating.
Last year, the hotel received LEED Silver certification from the US Green Building Council.
