Southwest Airlines Had a Strong June

Southwest Airlines continued its strong growth in 2016 with 6.8 percent growth in revenue passenger miles in June, according to the company’s latest numbers.

That represented a total of 11.5 billion revenue passenger miles, up from 10.8 billion revenue passenger miles in June 2015.

Available seat miles rose by 5.4 percent to 13.1 billion last month, up from 12.5 billion in June 2015.

In the same period, load factor for Southwest was a record for the month of June at 87.4 percent, up from 86.2 percent in June 2015.

The company flew a total of 113,431 trips in June, a 3.1 percent jump.
