A new photographic look at Dominica

If you can’t get to Dominica this summer, why not bring the Nature Island to you? Local photographer Yuri Jones is making it easy with his new coffee table book, Majestic and Magical: Come Explore The Nature Isle, which features more than 100 photos of the lush outpost.

“It is my deepest wish to create awareness of Dominica’s beauty,” says Jones, who shot the images over the course of three years, designed the book layout, and wrote the captions himself.

Jones launched a 30-day Kickstarter campaign on June 16 to raise $16,000 to print 1,000 copies of the 145-page tabletop tome, which means that backers have until July 16 to show their support. “I’m grateful to the supporters who came on board early to bring the campaign past the $1,000 mark, however, we still have a long way to go,” said Jones. “Majestic and Magical features Dominica’s scenery in the best way possible; every family should own at least one copy!”
