New Flights to Grand Bahama

Flights to Grand Bahama

Bahamian national carrier Bahamasair has officially launched its newest flights to Grand Bahama.

The first nonstop flight from Orlando to Freeport arrived this week on one of the new ATR aircraft purchased by Bahamasair last November.

The service will be operating twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

The company anticipates that service frequency will increase should demand build, however.

Bahamasair Chairman Valentine Grimes said the launch of the new service “signals our commitment to recapturing our competitive position as the preferred carrier of choice among the local market for travel to and from Florida-Caribbean.”

Bahamasair is currently offering an introductory price of $232 for the route, with more packages to come.

“Bahamasair’s decision to launch new service at Orlando International is a testament to our long standing and successful 31 year relationship,” said Frank Kruppenbacher, Chairman of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority. “This new twice-weekly Freeport service will provide our passengers with options to yet another desirable international island destination.”
