New St Vincent and the Grenadines Airport Closer to Debut
By the Caribbean Journal staff
St Vincent and the Grenadines could soon have its long-awaited international airport.
The much-anticipated project, delayed for several years (in large part due to the Christmas trough storm of 2013), is close to debut, according to Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves.
The airport’s construction, opening and operations are “at hand,” Gonsalves said this week.
The new airport would provide a major boost to a destination that has long been accessible only through flights from nearby islands in the Eastern Caribbean.
No formal debut date has been announced.
