Southwest Airlines traffic saw continued growth in April, according to the company’s latest data release.
The company flew 10.4 billion revenue passenger miles in April, a 4.7 percent increase compared to April 2015, when the carrier flew 9.9 billion revenue passenger miles.
Available seat miles jumped by 4.3 percent to 12.4 billion in April, with load factor a record for the month at 83.4 percent, up 0.3 percentage points from last year, according to preliminary traffic numbers.
Southwest has been rapidly expanding its Caribbean network, particularly out of Houston’s Hobby International Airport.
