This Is Your Next Caribbean Jazz Festival

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - April 11, 2016 - 10:36 pm

The Caribbean has a growing jazz festival scene, with new events popping up around the region.

But your next should be this one: Dominica’s Jazz ’n Creole Festival, whose seventh edition is set for May 8-15 at the island’s Cabrits National Park.

This year’s event has a full slate of performers, highlighted by headliner Andy Narell, a legend of the steel pan.

Narell will be joined this year by artists including Elan Parle, Soft and Cameron Pierre.

Narell will be performing May 15 with his eponymous quartet at the Cabrits National Park.

Jazz ’n Creole is one of two major musical events on Dominica’s annual agenda, along with the World Creole Music Festival.

The latter is scheduled for Oct. 28-30.
