It’s one of the most legendary restaurants in the Caribbean: the historic Sugar Mill at Jamaica’s Half Moon Resort.
And now it’s back, after closing for a long-term renovation.
“The Sugar Mill Restaurant is a well-known and favoured fine dining experience in Jamaica,” said Sandro Fabris, general manager of Half Moon. “The upgrades to the physical space paired with a new menu featuring the best of modern Jamaican cuisine will give guests and locals alike a reason to revisit this culinary staple for our destination.”
The restaurant is set in an alcove next to a 17th-century water mill. It is led by Chef de Cuisine Christopher Golding.
The restaurant’s new look comes with several new menu changes, including the addition of Wagyu beef and a focus on farm-to-table cuisine.
The reopening comes as the hotel has made several other changes to the property’s food and beverage offerings, including the replacement of the longtime Lester’s Bar with Lester’s Cafe, a coffee and espresso bar.
