What’s better than vacationing on a Caribbean island?

Vacationing on two.

And if you’re staying on St. Croix, you can enjoy a second island experience, one that’ll cost you only five bucks round-trip. From your comfy oceanfront digs at Christiansted’s newly renovated Hotel Caravelle, you’ll be only a three-minute stroll along the boardwalk and a mere 53-second boat ride away (yes, I timed it) from Protestant Cay, a four-acre islet just offshore.

Hop Hotel on The Cay’s boat taxi, which runs every 15 minutes between the harbor and the tiny spit, and you can be sunnyside-up on the sand before your sunscreen’s soaked in. Order up a Calypso Colada from the beach bar; lie back on a chaise; and take in the view of St. Croix harbor from yet another island oasis, no airfare required.
