American Airlines has launched a new service to the Caribbean.

The carrier has begun a new weekly service between Charlotte, North Carolina and Curaçao in the Dutch Caribbean.

The flights will be operated on an Airbus A319 aircraft with 128 seats, and will operate on Saturdays.

The flight could also provide new connection options as a gateway for travelers from around the US.

“We are extremely pleased with the announcement made today by American Airlines, one of our valued airline partners”, said Ralph Blanchard, CEO of Curaçao Airport Partners . “This new service complements our existing route network, will specifically strengthen Curaçao’s “brand” presence in the potent Middle Atlantic Region of the US, and will also enhance connectivity from other parts of the US via the powerful Charlotte Hub.”
