A new slate of events

Have you been to the British Virgin Islands? Or is it on your bucket list? Either way, there are now even more ways to explore the archipelago.
The BVI has announced a variety of events and experiences that incorporate culture, history, island hopping, and luxury retreats.
In addition to its famous sailing and diving offerings, the BVI also offers an array of activities in the culinary, wellness adventure areas.
“The tempo of our 60 islands and cays is unlike any other destination in the Caribbean and we welcome our visitors to experience our wide spectrum of events throughout the year,” said Director of Tourism, Sharon Flax-Mars. “We encourage guests to enjoy the British Virgin Islands and make discoveries of their own as they are introduced to our beaches and shores, our mountains and hillsides, our local cuisine and traditions in settings that are tranquil and idyllic.”
The first announced event is the Spanish Town Fisherman’s Jamboree, which takes place March 25-27, and attracts many competitors and spectators to enjoy food, music, and the beach.
On May 23 the BVI will host one of its most anticipated events, the Leverick Bay Poker Run, for which participants will compete for the best hand during a daylong journey between the islands.
Following months of other festive and marine events, as well as regattas, races, and sporting contests, the year will culminate in the Tourism Month and Food Fete in November.
The monthlong celebration will feature a variety of culinary events around the islands, such as Taste of the BVI, Barefoot Gourmet Soirée, The Lobster Crawl, and the Anegada Lobster Festival.
