New Condo-Hotel Project Launches in Antigua

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - January 12, 2016

Another new hotel project is coming to Antigua.

The Pleasure Cove Resort and Spa on Runaway Bay is a locally-owned condominium-hotel that has now officially launched.

The hotel is part of the country’s citizenship by investment programme.

“We are on a powerful and positive path towards strengthening our tourism and creating the climate for the growth of investment in our country,” said Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Minister Asot Michael. “This new tourism project takes us another step closer to realizing our vision of becoming the economic powerhouse of the Eastern Caribbean.”

The project will include 47 condominium-hotel units, along with a restaurant and bar, a  pool, a spa and a beach club.

The project will also include a rental pool program for unit owners.

“Pleasure Cove Resort and Spa is not only adding to our overall room capacity, but is an incredibly important property for the Antigua and Barbuda portfolio,” Michael said. “Trends are showing how smaller intimate properties and second homes which double as a vacation and investment property are becoming more and more popular for those seeking luxury and something different.”

The project is led by fourth-generation Antiguan Jason George-John.
