How WestJet Performed in 2015

Canadian air carrier WestJet posted mixed numbers in 2015, according to the company’s latest report.

The company showed an 80 percent load factor in 2015, down 1.4 percent from the full year 2014.

But the company also saw a 3.3 percent increase in revenue passenger miles, reporting 21.526 billion revenue passenger miles, up from 20.829 billion RPM in 2014.

“We are pleased to have welcomed more than 20 million guests on board in 2015, an all-time high for WestJet, notwithstanding further softening in Alberta demand,” said WestJet President and CEO Gregg Saretsky. “I want to thank our more than 11,000 WestJetters for continuing to deliver our brand of friendly caring service over this busy holiday season.”

The company launched several new routes last month, including new flights to San Jose, Costa Rica and Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
