Air Canada Sees Big Boost in Latin America, Caribbean Traffic

By: - December 9th, 2015

Air Canada is showing strong growth in the Caribbean.

The carrier posted 420 million revenue passenger miles to the region last month, a 12.3 percent improvement over November 2014.

Air Canada also reported a 2.7 percentage-point increase in load factor to the region, and an 8.5 percent increase in available seat miles in Latin America and the Caribbean.

For the year, revenue passenger miles to Latin America and the Caribbean are up 11.3 percent, the company said.

“These consistently strong results achieved after the traditional peak summer travel season demonstrate the effectiveness of our commercial strategy focusing on international growth and the strategic deployment of Air Canada rouge,” said Calin Rovinescu, President and Chief Executive Officer. “In particular, our expanding global network provides us with a lower risk, diversified route portfolio that more than offsets the current economic slowdown in Western Canada. I would like to thank our customers for choosing Air Canada as their preferred carrier and our employees for taking care of them while transporting them safely to their destination.”
