Trinidad and Tobago Showing Very Strong Tourism Growth

Trinidad and Tobago is having a very solid year for tourism growth, according to new data from the Caribbean Tourism Organization.

The twin-island republic has posted a 7.7 percent growth in arrivals through September data reported to the CTO, among the highest rates of growth in the region.

That was buoyed by a very strong winter, with 10.8 percent growth in the peak tourist season.

Through the first nine months of the year, Trinidad and Tobago has received 183,262 stayover tourists.

Particularly strong has been the United States market, which has grown by 18.6 percent year-over-year, no doubt driven in part by last year’s introduction of JetBlue flights to Trinidad.

European tourism has actually fallen by 13.1 percent, while tourism from other parts of the world (mostly Latin America) has risen by 10.4 percent.
