Why This Might Be the Caribbean’s Best-Value Luxury Real Estate Market

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - November 26, 2015

Is this Caribbean country home to the region’s best-value real estate?

The emerging luxury market in Belize offers just that, according to a new report by SANCAS Realty, the exclusive affiliate for Christie’s International Real Estate in Belize.

“The mid-term potential of the Belize real estate market is absolutely phenomenal,” according to Christopher Todd, Vice President of Global Marketing, SANCAS Realty and lead author of the report.  “The consensus opinions from our experts all paint a promising picture for those seeking to invest in Belize over the near-term.”

Compared with the average “luxury” home around the globe, the average price of a luxury home in Belize is under $1 million, according to the report.

That’s coupled with extremely low property taxes and initiatives like the Qualified Retired Persons Incentive Program.

The question is how long the value opportunity will last, with a host of development set to come on stream, led by big plans on North Ambergris Caye — plans which include a proposed new international airport.
