Antigua and Barbuda’s government has embarked on one of the region’s most ambitious green energy drives.
The project is highlighted by a three-megawatt solar farm at Antigua’s newly-redeveloped VC Bird International Airport.
Construction on that project is completed, with installation shortly, according to Tourism Minister Asot Michael.
The government is also planning the placement of two megawatts of solar power on government buildings around the island, laong with the establishment of a four megawatt site in the south of Antigua.
Additionally, Antigua is planning to install up to one megawatt of solar power in Barbuda.
Overall, the project includes 10 megawatts of solar energy generation for the country, aimed at reducing reliance on fossil fuels.
