American Airlines is planning a major expansion in service to Cancun, Mexico, the company announced.

The carrier will launch new service to Cancun from four US cities in 2016, including Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU), Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT), Nashville International Airport (BNA) and Kansas City International Airport (MCI).

Service is slated to begin March 5, and all of the new flights will operate on Saturdays.

“The addition of these four new routes gives our customers 12 locations to fly non-stop to Cancun,” said Art Torno, senior vice president – International and Cargo at American Airlines. “As the premier carrier to Mexico, the Caribbean and Latin America with flights to 85 destinations, these additions highlight our commitment to providing our customers with a network that is second to none.”
