WILLEMSTAD – The Caribbean’s leading tourism conference officially began on Wednesday evening on the island of Curaçao.

The Caribbean Tourism Organization’s 2015 State of the Industry Conference kicked off in earnest with a parade of Caribbean flags and calls for a renewed focus on the Caribbean’s leading economic driver.

This year’s SOTIC will feature two days of speakers, events, and panels, with JetBlue CEO Robin Hayes the event’s keynote speaker.

It’s being held under the theme of Caribbean Tourism: Growth Through Innovation.

The event, which is being attended by Ministers of Tourism from around the region, is being hosted at the World Trade Center convention facility, one of the largest in the region.
