WestJet’s traffic is on the rise, according to the company’s latest figures.
The company reported a 7.8 percent increase in revenue passenger miles in September compared to the same month in 2014, along with a 5.9 percent increase in available seat miles in the same period.
Load factor stood at 77.4 percent in September, up 1.5 percentage points from September 2014.
“We are very pleased with our strong year over year traffic growth as we continue to fly record numbers of guests while improving our on-time performance,” said WestJet President and CEO Gregg Saretsky. “As we transition through our shoulder period into the busy winter season, I want to thank our more than 10,000 WestJetters for their commitment to providing our brand of friendly caring service.”
WestJet recently launched its new Plus service on Boeing Next Generation 737 aircraft, which featured an empty middle seat for “more space and privacy,” and premium boxed emails on longer flights.
