Saba’s Queen’s Gardens Resort has welcomed Executive Chef Johan de Jager to its namesake restaurant.

Chef de Jager’s new menu at the hotel’s eponymous Queen’s Gardens Restaurant features a variety of internationally-influenced dishes, fresh local produce, and ingredients from the hotel’s own organic garden.

Some of its signature items include Chef de Jager’s take on Ossobuco, a classic Italian braised veal shank and vegetable dish, Fresh Seafood Risotto, and Crab Stuffed Flank Steak.

Prior to joining Queen’s Gardens Resort, Chef de Jager worked with several leading chefs and restaurants around the world, including renowned Michelin Bib Gourmand Restaurant, Coco Pazzo, of The Netherlands, as well as alongside Chef Hans van Triest, winner of the 2006 Caribbean Chef of the Year Award.

De Jager is classically trained in French cuisine but carries a passion for Italian cooking, and embraces Mediterranean, Caribbean, and Asian styles to create a unique cultural journey for guests.
