A new Italian creamery, Gelato & Co.., has opened on the grounds of the San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino in Puerto Rico.

The gelato shop, a creation of Italian chef Stefano Frencheschi, is the second to open in the Caribbean after a $200,000 investment by the resort.

The first debuted at Grand Cayman’s Camana Bay development.

The 700 square-foot space is located directly on Condado’s Ashford Avenue, a convenient location for hotel guests and locals alike to cool off with gelato, sorbets, and treats from the “Dessert Bar.”

Gelato & Co. says it is committed to using all natural ingredients that are imported from Italy, such as hazelnuts and chocolate from Piedmont, and almonds and pistachios from Sicily.
