Costa Rican luxury hotel company Nayara has launched construction on its newest location in Puerto Rico’s Toro Verde mountain country.

The Tourism Company of Puerto Rico (PRTC) is estimating that it will directly lead to the creation of 100  jobs during the construction and operation phases, and that it will ultimately inject approximately $6 million into the country’s economy.

“In addition to being of great value to our construction industry, Nayara Hotel Toro Verde will also have a very important impact for the mountain region of Puerto Rico,” said Ingrid Rivera Rocafort, Executive Director of the PRTC.

Toro Verde CEO Jorge Jorge laid the first stone on the project, announcing the inauguration of “El Laberinto del Toro,” an innovative ropes course attraction with canopies, obstacles, and rapeling features, which will mainly be dedicated to team-building workshops and birthdays.

“We thank the prestigious hotel chain Nayara, for your confidence in Puerto Rico as a destination and in the managers of Toro Verde for their vision and commitment to making this a unique adventure park– able to attract visitors from all over the world to enjoy of its offerings,” Rocafort said.

Nayara Toro Verde represents the company’s first expansion outside of Costa Rica.

“I am sure that this union will be of great benefit to PR and will bring a new market to the island,” said Nayara General Manager Freddy Obando.
