Jamaica’s Goldeneye is Expanding

An iconic property adding more units

By the Caribbean Journal staff

Jamaica’s Goldeneye hotel is getting larger.

The hotel that was once the home of James Bond creator Ian Fleming is adding 26 new beach huts, slated to open at the end of the year.

The hotel is also adding a new restaurant and bar called She’been, along with a new pool.

The property said the new units would not include air conditioning “as they will be strategically positioned to maximize the cool breezes that roll in from the ocean and surrounding hills.”

The houses will be built at varying heights, all with beach or bay views and shuttered windows.

They are being designed by Ann Hodges, who was behind Goldeneye’s original villa and cottage accommodations.
