American Airlines Now Offering Six Weekly Flights to Martinique

AA’s Martinique expansion continues

By the Caribbean Journal staff

American Airlines has officially launched its latest expansion in service to Martinique.

The carrier has launched two more weekly flights between Miami and Fort de France, lifting its total number of weekly flights to Martinique to six.

The carrier had recently expanded its flights from twice-weekly to four-times-weekly in June.

The flights come a week after European carrier Norwegian announced the launch of its first-ever service from New York to Martinique.

The flights are operating on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday on Embraer ERJ-175 aircraft.

The Norwegian thrice-weekly service will launch Dec. 3 of this year.

American Airlines reestablished its flights to Martinique in 2013; the island had gone decades without a nonstop flight from the mainland United States.
