Passengers traveling through the British Virgin Islands’ West End Ferry Terminal in Tortola will now enjoy an enhanced guest experience after recent renovations to the facility.
This week, the BVI Ports Authority announced the completion of the project, which began in February, and included the repositioning of the ferry customer service counters, the addition of a departure hall with additional seating, and a covered waiting area for guests traveling to and from Jost Van Dyke.
“We have met our overall objective to create a safer, more comfortable, functional environment for both Virgin Islands residents and visitors,” said BVIPA Deputy Managing Director Al Henley.
Henley has said that the moving of the counters will alleviate congestion in the terminal caused by the convergence of passengers entering to purchase tickets and those waiting in the security line.
He also added that the renovations are only a temporary measure until the BVIPA moves to establish a new West End Ferry terminal.
