San Juan Beach Hotel Closes

By the Caribbean Journal staff

The San Juan Beach Hotel in Puerto Rico has closed its doors.

The 96-room property is located in the Condado district of San Juan.

The hotel is part of the portfolio of parent company San Juan Resort Owners, which filed for bankruptcy earlier this year.

But there may be existing developers on the island interested in buying the property, according to Ingrid Rivera Rocafort, the executive director of the Puerto Rico Tourism Company.

In a statement, she said the “growth of the tourism industry and the development process continues to advance in the Condado area and to inspire the confidence of investors, who are already committed to the economic development of our country.”

The hotel is the second hotel to close in Condado in the last three months, following the May closure of the Radisson Ambassador.

The Tourism Company said 37 employees were affected by the closure.
