Apple Vacations is launching a new People-to-People Educational programme featuring two different tours to Cuba.

The tours, which will launch July 9, will give travelers the opportunity to “immerse” themselves in Cuban culture through personal interaction with the people of Cuba, including artists, farmers, health-care professionals, children and other locals.

People-to-people travel is one of 12 US Treasury Department-licensed categories for legal travel to Cuba.

Apple Vacations has partnered with US-based Cuba Travel Services to develop the tours, each of which will be led by a professional, English-speaking tour guide.

The tour options include the five-night Havana getaway or the seven-night Colors of Cuba tour, which will include also two nights in the colonial town of Trinidad.

Both tours include roundtrip flights between Miami and Havana or Cienfuegos, pre-trip accommodations at the Sheraton Miami Airport Hotel with a welcome briefing, and a Cuban Tourist Visa, among other features.
