Royal Caribbean Making Progress on Harmony of the Seas Construction

Royal Caribbean International has announced the completion of the exterior construction of its new Harmony of the Seas cruise ship, which will soon be one of the world’s largest cruise chips.

For its inaugural season, Harmony of the Seas’ will sail the Western Mediterranean out of Barcelona before arriving in her home port Fort Lauderdale, from which it will sail the Caribbean starting in November 2016.

Harmony of the Seas’ will be the newest member of Royal Caribbean’s Oasis class of ships, all of which feature seven neighborhoods — Central Park, Boardwalk, the Royal Promenade, the Pool and Sports Zone, Vitality at Sea Spa, and Fitness Center, Entertainment Place, and Youth Zone.

The ship, which will feature 20 restaurants and over 2,000 crew members, will also come equipped with new amenities including three multi-story water slides, the Bionic Bar with robot bartenders, and Voom, “the fastest Internet connection at sea.”

It will also span 16 decks, with the ability to carry 5,479 guests at double occupancy, and feature 2,747 state rooms.
