The Calabash Grenada hotel announced this week that it would close its doors from late July to early October as it undergoes an extensive upgrade process.
The 30-suite resort will be renovating its Junior Suite and One Bedroom Superior Suite categories, which will feature new Italian furniture and refurbished bathrooms.
The resort also announced the construction of a new Wellness Centre, which is set to a house a multi-treatment room spa, fitness suite, yoga pavilion, juice bar, Zen garden, and relaxation pool.
“We have been investing heavily in the resort for the past 20 years, but this year we are creating something special,” said resort director Adele Garbutt.
In the announcement, Calabash said it was emphasizing the environment in its decisions, particularly the importance of energy efficiency and water conservation.
“Visitors come to Grenada because of its pure and beautiful surroundings, so it is our duty to constantly find ways to reduce our impact on the environment and to preserve our island’s natural beauty,” Garbutt said.
