A New Look at Haiti’s Top Museum

Haiti’s Musée du Panthéon National Haïtien, one of the Caribbean’s leading museums, has gotten a makeover.

This week, the museum has completed the first phase of an extension project.

The first phase includes a new interior “garden,” along with a gift boutique.

It also features a new conservation area, a restaurant, an amphitheatre and a children’s section, among other features.

“The gardens of MUPANAH are the testimony to a city that changes,” said Emelie Prophet, executive director of Haiti’s National Library, who served as master of ceremonies at the inauguration event.
