Hyatt’s Caribbean expansion continues this week with the debut of its newest resort in the region, the Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen.

The resort will officially open on Tuesday.

Set in the energetic city on Mexico’s Caribbean coast, the hotel is located on La Quinta Avenida (Fifth Avenue).

The property includes 314 guestrooms, including 36 suites.

It has three restaurants and bars: The Grill at 1 26, a seafood and steak eatery; La Cocina, a Mexican and Caribbean restaurant; and El Paseo, what it calls a “culinary experience.”

The beachfront property also features a “Cenote Spa” with eight treatment rooms, and, in an increasing (and welcome) trend for the region, Wi-Fi access in all guestrooms and facilities.
