American Airlines: Continued Decline in Latin America, Caribbean Traffic

American Airlines Group’s Latin America and Caribbean traffic continues to slide.

The carrier saw a 7.9 percent reduction in Revenue Passenger Miles to the region in May, reporting just under 2.5 billion RPM.

That was down from 2.71 billion in May of 2014.

Last month, the carrier reported an 8.1 percent decline in the RPM to the region.

Overall, the carrier’s international traffic showed a small 0.7 percent increase.

American Airlines Group’s load factor declined by 0.4 percent in the same period, according to its monthly report.
