Air France has named a new executive vice president.

The company announced that Gilles Laurent had been appointed executive vice president for flight operations, replacing Eric Schramm, who will take up a new position in the coming months.

Laurent also becomes a member of the governing board of the Air France Group.

He will report directly to Frederic Gagey, chairman and CEO at Air France.

Laurent, a qualified pilot, had most recently served as vice president for quality and flight safety at Air France.
