Curacao’s North Sea Jazz festival has, in recent years, become one of the Caribbean’s leading concert festivals.
Now, the Dutch Caribbean island is adding another to the mix: Viva La Musica Latina.
The Latin-oriented festival will feature performers including Jorge Celedón, Alberto Barros, Olga Tañón, Gilberto Santa Rosa, the Guaco Group Venezuela and others.
The festival takes place May 29-30 in Willemstad, the island’s capital.
Curacao and the rest of the so-called ABC islands (Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao) are havens for Latin sound in large part due to their proximity to Venezuela.
