Cuba’s Raul Castro Visits Russia

Cuba President Raul Castro visited Russia’s capital, Moscow, this week.

The trip included a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Dimitri Medvedev,.

Castro was on hand for the 70th anniversary celebration of the end of World War II, pointing to what he called “the friendship that still exists because there is a mutual admiration between our peoples.”

According to a note from the government, the two dies discussed trade, along with the prospects of joint projects in sectors including energy, health, transport, biotechnology and the pharmaceutical industry.

Castro was slated to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday.
