Royal Caribbean’s New Top Chef

Royal Caribbean International has named a new vice president, the company announced this week.

The cruise line has tapped John Suley as its new vice president of food and beverage operations.

In the new role, Suley will oversee more than 265 individual restaurants on 23 cruise ships.

“We are very excited to welcome John to Royal Caribbean,” said Mark Tamis, senior vice president of Hotel Operations for Royal Caribbean International. “John brings awesome experience and unmatched skill in delivering delicious dining experiences on land and at sea. His high-energy leadership will continue to elevate the onboard dining experience for our guests as part of the best vacations that only Royal Caribbean can deliver.”

Suley, a Chef, had formerly served as associate vice president for food and beverage operations for Celebrity Cruises.

Suley’s career includes a nomination as a Rising Star Chef by the James Beard Foundation in 2010 and as a 2007 Rising Star Chef of American Cuisine, among other accolades.
