The results from the 2015 RumXP awards are in, and one of the world’s leading rum award slates has some new winners.
Leading the way were a host of top-level rums, from Peru’s Cartavio, which took home Best in Class Gold in both the Premium Aged Rum and Aged Rum 5-8 years categories, to Plantation, which took home Best in Class Gold for the Aged Rum-Special Cask, Aged Rum and Flavored Rum categories.
Another big winner was Florida-based Siesta Key Rum, which took home Best in Class Gold in the Spiced Rum category for its Siesta Key Spiced Limited Edition, while taking home a pair of golds as well.
Topping the Aged Rum 18-25 years category was the Dominican Republic’s Opthimus 25.
The RumXP awards are held each year at the Miami Rum Festival, judged by an international rum expert panel.
The Miami Rum Festival has grown to become one of the world’s leading rum festivals.
Rum Journal founder Alexander Britell was a guest judge on this year’s panel.
