American Airlines: Latin America, Caribbean Numbers Slide 8.4 Percent

American Airlines Group saw a sharp reduction in Latin America and Caribbean numbers last month, according to the company’s recently-released March numbers.

The company saw an 8.4 percent decline in revenue passengers to the Latin America and Caribbean region, down to 2.678 billion from 2.923 billion in March of 2014.

That was the largest slide of any sub-region for the company, followed by a 6.4 percent reduction in the Atlantic region.

Load factor for the region was flat in the same period.

Overall, international traffic fell by 2.2 percent in March.
