Virgin Atlantic officially made its return to Tobago last week.

The carrier is now operating a weekly Sunday service that will expand to two flights per week during the winter season later this year.

“You have another major international airline carrier traversing the London-Gatwick to Tobago route,” said Tracy Davidson-Celestine, Tobago’s Secretary of the Division of Tourism and Transportation. “The UK market is a very important market for us. We have been seeing growth in that market over the last three years. It means that we have more than enough airlifts coming out of the UK to Destination Tobago.”

The flight is operating as an additional sector between the carrier’s nonstop service to St Lucia, meaning a short stop in St Lucia before the flight continues to Tobago.

The flight is currently operating on Sundays, with an expansion to Tuesdays and Saturdays beginning in October.

Virgin is operating the flight on Airbus A330-300 aircraft.
