The governments of Cuba and Trinidad and Tobago have signed a bilateral cooperation agreement in the tourism sector.

The agreement, which was announced by Cuba’s government this week, aims to “promote and increase the flow of travelers and to boost the Caribbean multi-destination.”

Trinidad and Tobago Tourism Minister Gerald Hadeed and Cuban Tourism Minister Manuel Marrero signed the agreement during a visit by Hadeed to Havana.

According to Cuba, the agreement covers “the training of personnel, investment promotion, the exchange of expertise and scientific experience, environmental evaluations and the development of new tourist products.”

Hadeed visited Cuba March 28 to 31; the visit included talks with Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment and Rodrigo Malmierca and with government vice-president Ricardo Cabrisas.
