The Carnival Triumph made its first-ever call to Dominica this week.

This was the 2,754-passenger Triumph’s only scheduled call to Dominica during the 2014/2015 season.

“The relationship between Carnival Cruise Lines and Dominica began in 1989, and we are pleased to build on this long-standing partnership,” said Colin Piper, Dominica’s director of tourism.

Carnival had first begun sailing to Dominica in 1989 until it stopped in 2010.

Since 2010, there have now been three Carnival vessels to call on the island.

Dominica expects 191 cruise calls for the 2014/2015 season, with an expected total of 292,210 visitors.
