There will soon be a new way to get to Nevis — from Antigua.

The Nevis Island Administration has forged a partnership with Antigua-based Caribbean Helicopters, Ltd for a new pathway to the island.

CHL has a fleet of three small planes, with the Antigua-Nevis route set to begin “very shortly,” according to Director of CHL Neil Dickinson.

“We believe there is a lot of synergy between Antigua and Nevis and day tours for existing people staying in Antigua is a very great possibility,” he said. “We are already exploring quite a lot of success. So we are looking forward to this.”

The flight service will begin with two flights a day on Fridays and Sundays, with eventual plans for two flights on Wednesdays.

The service could be a particular boon to travelers on long-haul flights from the UK to Antigua seeking to travel to Nevis.

Dickinson said the the company would “be monitoring the demand,” with the possibility of daily service depending on growth.

Note: an earlier version of this story reported that the company would be using helicopters. The firm will be operating the service on airplanes.
