Aimbridge Hospitality has been tapped to manage the Hilton Rose Hall Resort and Spa in Jamaica following the acquisition of the property by Sagicor.

The property was put on the market last year by investment firm Blackstone. Sagicor owns three other hotel properties in Jamaica.

The move is effective immediately; the hotel will continue to operate as Hilton Rose Hall Resort and Spa, although it will be managed by Aimbridge.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Guests will continue to have access to Hilton benefits and book in the Hilton Hhonors loyalty programme, the company said.

“We are proud to be a part of the evolution of this exclusive beachfront resort, once a legendary sugar plantation,” said Dave Johnson, president and CEO of Aimbridge Hospitality. “Our plans for this Caribbean treasure are to enhance this beachfront retreat even further, with signature programming, food and beverage and service levels that are synonymous with the hotels and resorts in the Aimbridge portfolio, including our coveted Jewel Resorts.”

The 489-room property is located on 1,800 feet of private beach; it also includes 41,000 square feet of meeting space.

Aimbridge owns and/or manages more than 200 hotels comprising nearly 27,000 rooms across the United States and the Caribbean.

“Rose Hall is steeped in history and legend and is home to some of the finest resorts and most genuine hospitality in the Caribbean,” said Rich Cortese, senior vice president of Caribbean operations and development at Aimbridge. “This timeless resort, which opened its doors in the early 1970s, has been transformed with a unique contemporary new look, that offers amenities for all ages. It is a most unique asset with a very intriguing location in Jamaica.”
