Radisson will soon be opening its first-ever hotel in the Dominican Republic.

The hotel brand announced this week that it had signed a hotel in the heart of Santo Domingo’s commercial district.

The 190-room hotel is set to open under the Radisson brand in March.

“We are pleased to announce the signing of this modern and recently renovated hotel, marking our entrance into the Dominican Republic,” said Javier Rosenberg, chief operating officer, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group for the Americas. “We continue to see strong momentum in our growth as a powerful, globally consistent, first class-brand complemented by our ‘Yes I Can!’ service spirit.”

The company has been on an expansion drive in the region, with new hotels in the last few years in Grenada and Barbados.

The company did not reveal the name of the hotel.
