The Paradisus Cancun has named Santiago Rivera its new general manager, the all-inclusive resort announced.

Rivera has been with parent company Melia since 1999, working at destination resorts in China, the Dominican Republic and Mexico.

“We are thrilled to welcome Santiago to the team at Paradisus Cancun,” said Alvaro Tejeda, regional vice president for the Americas at Melia Hotels International. “His breadth of knowledge in hospitality and mastery of cultivating enjoyable customer experiences will allow continued growth and success of the brand.”

The 678-room property includes four pools, six restaurants and five bars on the beach on Mexico’s Caribbean coast.

Rivera succeeds Conrad Bergwerf, who was recently appointed managing director at Paradisus Resorts in Punta Cana.
