Melia Hotels International has named Conrad Bergwerf the new managing director of Paradisus Resorts Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, the company announced.

The role covers both the Paradisus Palma Real and the Paradisus Punta Cana properties.

Bergwerf had most recently served as general manager of Hotel Gran Melia Jakarta; he has also served in similar roles at hotels in Vietnam and Costa Rica.

“The experience Mr Bergwerf has acquired throughout his time at Paradisus Cancun and other Meliá properties, coupled with his impeccable management skills, have made him an invaluable asset to the team,” said Alvaro Tejeda, regional vice president for the Americas at Melia Hotels International. “We are confident [he] will be extremely successful in his new role overseeing our two beautiful, luxury all-inclusive Paradisus Resorts in the Dominican Republic.”

The Paradisus Palma Real and the Paradisus Punta Cana are both all-inclusive resorts.
